11 miles or so to the West is New Quay a Victorian and Georgian sea front town with attractive houses, pubs, Hotels, typical Seaside shops and restaurants overlooking the sandy beaches and quaint harbour. A great place for sitting outside the pub viewing the bay and the little boats or eating chips while Dolphin watching from the harbour wall or boat trips around Cardigan Bay viewing Dophins and rare sea birds around the private coves.
Cardigan Bay is very sheltered and rarely cold or windy. From New Quay you can see the distant Lleyn Peninsular and Snowdonia mountains of North Wales. Dylan Thomas; cottage can be seen accross the bay and the Black Lion is said to have been his favorite pub!
